As we enter the second half of year 2011, we are glad to bring you yet another edition of STC India’s newsletter, INDUS. In this edition, we have some very interesting articles on various aspects of technical communication. Well-known expert, Larry Kunz, shares his perspective on the technical communication trends. Kris Weylo sets forth the design aspects that revolve around website development and Devika Ganapathy advocates that technical writers can don the role of heuristics reviewers with better understanding of UI design and usability methods.

Experts Ignite this time features Sairaj Vaithilingam, who leads the Content and Design Services (C&DS) practice at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Lori Sanders says that motivation, hard work, and commitment are the essential skills required for a successful career as a contract technical writer. In the second article of the series on Agile, Manjusha Nair explains how crucial the requirements gathering process is in an agile environment.

Suchitra Govindarajan attended the first-ever STC India Summit in Bangalore and decided to sends us her thoughts on the event. And Rajdeep Gupta, STC India president, mulls over what really drives technical communicators like us to work. Rajdeep also drops hints about an upcoming event. Watch this space.
